I get this feeling you might not have connected everyting properly. Connect the DVD into video 1 on the rear, its labelled DVD. Connect the HD cable into input 2 labelled DTV. Connect the audio into optical inputs into numbers 4 ad 5 labelled the same, DVD & DTV. Let me know.
