All I want to do with the backlight is turn it on when the ceiling lights dim to off. The backlight is a 12" Flourescent with a 6500K T5 bulb. I don't really want to change that. No other light comes close to the 6500K specs.

Any ideas on what I really need to accomplish this task? The backlight will be plugged in to a switched outlet.
