Hifiguru gave you the wrong part numbers. You
don't need the SPS-5WC either. It is just an
ir remote that goes in the wall. The SPS-AS is
a slave switch for controling from multiple locations.

All you need is:

SPSF-S6A Switch for backlight
SPS-600 Dimmer for Room Lights

And a way to get codes into your remote if you
dont use the layout thats in the mx500 already.

Let me know if you need any help.

Well, I don't know what to do now. I already have all the parts he talked about. Can the parts I have work?

The SPS-5WC can not be returned. Neither can the SPS-600. I actually have 2 of the 600's. But I knew I only needed one. I bought all 3 for $150 used. The SPS-AS I bought new, but wasn't a lot of money. 20 bucks I think.

I talked to a Lutron tech on the phone recently. He mentioned I need the SPSF-S6A as well. But if I am not dimming the flourescent (just turning it on or off) why then do I need the SPSF.

I'm trying to keep the cost of this project to a minimum. But it seems to be getting carried away.
