The main drawback of the SL9000 is the fact that they combined the menu arrows and transport keys onto the same set of buttons. So if you have a device that needs both, like most VCRs, DVD players, etc, you're screwed. For these devices they put the transport keys on some randomly labelled buttons at the bottom of the remote.

Call me picky, but while I don't find using obscure buttons for obscure functions, I expect the standard set of buttons to be covered (ie, arrows, transport, numbers, etc)

But, the SL9000 has an endless supply of memory, so you'll be able to learn from as many remotes as you like.

The RCU810 is very limited without JP1, but with JP1 it's a very good remote.
