P.S. I heard from someone who "hasn't" tried doing this, and he reported that when he "didn't" put Red-Eye in his (sorry, the cableco's) STB, it had problems when directly over the IR receiver as the signal was too strong - I suggested either moving it off-axis or using a paper label to attenuate the IR - not heard anything back - either it worked or he electrocuted himself on the exposed mains PSU in the STB which he of course didn't take the lid off...;-)
