Hmmm... It must be RF and IR. I can sit in the other room and unit will work.
However, I used the "learn" function on the RCA - If you believe the Dish system will accept RF AND IR then it must have learned the IR signal - and had that 'blasted' to it from the IR repeater.
Sorry, remote novice here - obviously.
