Ref the Pronto not learning your VCR's codes: I too had a problem with it learning my DVD player's commands while another remote I have learned this device just fine. Strange? After a frustrating evening of experimentation I discovered that I had the two remotes too close together during the "teaching". Although the Pronto learned all the rest of my stuff with the remotes 4" apart, I had to hold this one about 2 feet away to get it to work. Give it a try.
