I am guilty of thinking this would be a bit more plug and play when I took it on as a favor. Been more plug and pray.
the AT&T modem is a standard junk issue providing a smoking 12mB performance (speeds may vary lol). They also sent him a letter that they are pulling the plug within 6 months and will then have a wireless only option afterward. Comcast would be an easy answer except they want 15k to trench a new line to his building.
His existing cameras did not auto populate to the new NVR even though they also were LTS. LTS tech support is world class - team viewer and they get it done. They got the NVR viewing unlocked the day before yesterday, which somehow was not visible by default.
