Come to think of it, doesn't the MX5000 have the same connection issues (needing a certain version of Windows, Sync, or something)?
I tried to make an MX 5000 work with RS 232 and it was a constant service call. I put in quite a few of those remotes, but I always used them in RF and IR modes.
