Do you believe everything you're told? It's often beneficial to take a step back and look at any situation as a whole rather than just accept what someone tells you.
Think critically and question everything.
This is a great point these days. We had a local protest/riot and the comments on the news/Twitter the next day and weeks later were "We were having a peaceful protest until the police started firing tear gas and bean bags at us. That's why we burned the city down!" If you believed the media (which many young people do), you'd think that the police and authority were "evil".
Guess what, liberal left? The police just released the video. It clearly showed people launching rocks up to the size of softballs and bottles at the police. People in the back of the crowd were kicking and punching innocent people trying to drive by. The police station had been covered by graffiti from "protesters" for hours. Once they saw someone trying to light a Molotov cocktail, they started moving people out. I thought this was a peaceful protest?
Some 59 year old lady got plunked in the head with a bean bag. Initially, the narrative and her lawyer's story was "she didn't do nothing!" However, the video shows that she was right in the middle of the group throwing rocks and bottles, she throws a coke/beer can and the police couldn't tell the difference from 100 feet away. My take is: Don't hang out with people who lob rocks at police. Play stupid games and win a bean bag to the head.
