I spent 20 minutes on chat, then an other 20 on the phone with the same guy.

Currently I have a AB gateway. It has the internet, telephone as well as the MoCA for the TiVo service.

I already know I can put the main TiVo, with the tuners, into bridge mode and plug in my router into it. This allows the other TiVo pieces to speak with the TiVo service and such. (Something the support tech guy did not know.)

But he also said that they would need to come out and install a second coax from the street for the emta and use the current for my customer own internet modem. and have a second account at the house. That’s when I just asked him to have a “tech” visit to look at the current modem screwing up. Because that is when I realized this guy had no clue.

My question is, can AB have a customer owned internet modem and a telephone emta on the same account? If so, would they charge a monthly rental fee for the emta modem? I know at Comcast, at least when I was there, they did not charge for the emta rental fee.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks,

KOT
