An Ipad mini sitting in an in wall dock and either Sonos or Yamaha app?
No need to worry about updates messing things up.
You can set Ipad to wake up and go to Music app so it should always be on the right thing for anyone to use.
Leaves options open for what they want to listen to and when. (USB or other)
$'s can be spent on good speakers and amplification.
Easy to have back up in case ipad failure, someone in charge can load app to their phone too.
