Right MRF350. My mistake. The answer is I have tried both. But it does not explain why everything worked before the MRF350. In fact if I remove the emitter from my TV it works just fine.
That tells me that, in the RF control section of the programming, the TV commands are set to IR, so the commands come out of the remote as IR. I don't know why the TV would not see those commands if "the emitter from my TV" is connected, unless you're not actually using an emitter on your TV but instead are using a cable from the output of the MRF350 to an emitter input (or IR input).
Check your programming to be sure the RF setting is right for the TV commands. Maybe also provide a bit more detail as to how the TV emitter is connected and placed.
