Possibly the dumbest post on RC ever....and that's saying something. :)
I wasn't particularly a Rush fan, but if it wasn't for Neil Peart and what he did on the drums, the guys on your Guitar Center Drum Off would've probably never picked up sticks.
They're not qualified to carry his sticks onto the stage.
If music was all about how fast you could go, Yngwie Malmsteen would be the most famous musician in the history of the world, but he's not, because it's not.
Music is all about making the listener feel something in the few minutes your song is on the radio. Neil Peart was one of the best ever at doing that. On top of that, he was playing with arguably two of the best musicians ever to play rock. There are plenty of musicians who are technically proficient, that doesn't make them Mozart or Neil Peart.
Something else does that.
