I don't know what companies you have in your locale (in your profile as "USA") but here in the Los Angeles area I've seen
a) multiple trailers with three cameras per trailer about thirty feet up on a pole, powered by about 20 square feet of solar cell, in a WalMart parking lot. These stream to the internet.
b) a single camera on a ten foot pole with about 16 square feet of solar cell, that we installed to watch goings-on at a USC Medical Center construction project. These stream to the internet.
c) a pair of wall-mounted time-lapse cameras inside a restaurant construction site.
d) several dummy cameras placed around a building (the day after a break-in).

It is just plain silly to place cameras that are easily stolen inside the construction site. The guys who had us put up the dummy cameras were surprised when several thieves came to the site the very next day.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
