Thanks for the input. I understand and agree with most of it. The builder is relatively new and is definitely in the "everything is wireless these days" camp. Fortunately he wants us to involved with his next home from the beginning and seems to genuinely want our input. For this one, it is what it is and we have to make due. As mentioned, this will be T&M and I will warn the client about potential performance and reliability issues. This is also a temporary home for the client while he looks for lake property and builds his own place from scratch. For this reason I don't want to walk. Client is a pretty heavy hitter in the finance industry and could certainly afford a full wired retro-fit, but since this is a temp home I don't want to tear the place apart if possible.
Be careful educating this builder too much. It just feels like he’s the type that will use you to tell him how to do it then screw you over
