Stealth: I'm not saying that you have to have THX, but its a George Lucas certified system. He originally developed it for Movie Theatres. He had gone to various Theatres that were playing his movies. He was very disappointed in the Sound systems in those theatres. As in many Theatres, they just line up a ton of speakers down both side walls of the Theatres. Whether you like George Lucas or not, he is a stickler for getting the audio right. THX came up with a standard that all Theatres should adhere to. He controls speaker placement & balance, Power requirements for every chsnnel, etc. Whether you agree with him or not, his intentions are good. I'm all for standardization. I'm not sure how you determined that DD was better then THX. Sounds like you had something going on wrong there. Anyway, its a free country, and you do not have to have THX if you don't want to.
