I am also looking to send ir codes via RS-232.
I see that that this is not simple and i have a lot of learning ahead of me.
I need to control multiple AV devices via computer. I currently have control via RS-232 for (2) Tascam CD Players, Denon DA-7100 Surround Preamplifie, Christie Roadster 12K projector and more... I use usb to (8) serial port adapter. I also have
AMX AXB-IRS4 Serial to IR box. Looking to control (2) Icecrypt Satellite Receiver STC6000 HD PVR and Sony BDP-S360 Blu Ray Player both of which are IR only.
Am I on the right track? What hardware/software should I look at? Thanks
