Well, I ended up with an "AR" remote. Of course this is not the same Acoustic Research that produced the SRC but it says AR on the unit and it's nicely compact. I'll attempt to post a photo. It's called the "Acoustic Research ARi3G 3 3 Device Universal Remote Control Compatible with Apple Products" and is primarily used with Apple TV. A real PITA to program with the "learning" function but eventually I got it to work.
The labels are not the neatest and I could not figure out how to program the "extra" functions (most of which are superfluous except the sleep timer).
