I have an AR-SRC (Acoustic Research Stereo Remote Control) that is probably about 30+ years old. It was used to add remote capabilities to non-remote receivers back in the day and could even be used as a preamp (without phono). The functions are Power, Volume, Balance and Mute/EPL. There are also "Additional Functions" that involve using a combination of keys. I have one complete SRC with the remote and manual but a second SRC is missing the remote. Any suggestions to replace the remote? btw--today's "AR" only owns the name and has nothing to do with the company (Teledyne) that made this remote. Thanks for any help!

Hmm. I wouldn't be certain of finding such an oddball device in a code database - so I'd suggest buying a cheap learning remote that you can teach it the codes from your remaining original remote (heck, I wish you had a Pronto so you could upload the codes here and have them archived).
Note that those dual-combination keys will require a separate button for each resulting function on a learning remote.

Thanks Daniel. Any specific recommendations? Too bad I can't post a photo here but here's what's on the remote: There are 4 rectangular rocker switches, the equivalent of 8 buttons: Power on/off volume up/down balance left/right mute (20dB) external processor in/out
Then, you can use the "power on" as a "shift" key that changes the function of each button, adding: sleep timer fast volume up/down left channel only right channel only full mute on/off center balance
To tell the truth I don't think these "extra" functions are particularly useful. They are really pretty redundant, with the exception of the sleep timer which simply turns the system off after 30 minutes.
So any basic learning remote that will do power, volume, balance, mute, external processor loop and maybe sleep timer should be perfectly adequate.
Suggestions welcome (Please!)

Well, I ended up with an "AR" remote. Of course this is not the same Acoustic Research that produced the SRC but it says AR on the unit and it's nicely compact. I'll attempt to post a photo. It's called the "Acoustic Research ARi3G 3 3 Device Universal Remote Control Compatible with Apple Products" and is primarily used with Apple TV. A real PITA to program with the "learning" function but eventually I got it to work. The labels are not the neatest and I could not figure out how to program the "extra" functions (most of which are superfluous except the sleep timer).
