Thanks Daniel. Any specific recommendations? Too bad I can't post a photo here but here's what's on the remote:
There are 4 rectangular rocker switches, the equivalent of 8 buttons:
Power on/off
volume up/down
balance left/right
mute (20dB)
external processor in/out

Then, you can use the "power on" as a "shift" key that changes the function of each button, adding:
sleep timer
fast volume up/down
left channel only
right channel only
full mute on/off
center balance

To tell the truth I don't think these "extra" functions are particularly useful. They are really pretty redundant, with the exception of the sleep timer which simply turns the system off after 30 minutes.

So any basic learning remote that will do power, volume, balance, mute, external processor loop and maybe sleep timer should be perfectly adequate.
