You both make valid points and seem very reasonable. I will try to keep some of those points in mind in the future. As a dealer I come here to try to help other dealers and DIYers like yourselves.
Actually, I am not anti DIYer. I know that there are many very intelligent and sharp DIYers who can program these remotes as well or better than me. What I am against is the dealer or company who will sell these remotes and not support customers after the sale.

Fair enough - I think we can all agree on that. I've met both types of dealers, the good and the bad. And to be fair, I've also met the CIs that bend over backwards to fix things when customers try to "help" by rearranging files structures in a music server for instance.
