I have just redone my home theater and would like to charge the TSU9600 in one location, but have another charger stand (not plugged in) by the seating area, simply acting as a support for the remote. Will putting the TSU9600 in the charge stand, without plugging it in, drain the battery of the TSU9600?

I just looked at the DS9600 schematic, and if you don't have a USB or power cable connected, there should be no drain on the TSU9600. A USB connection will definitely drain it, and depending on what is inside the "wall wart" AC adapter, having the adapter connected to the DS9600 but not plugged in could discharge the TSU9600 via leakage through the dock LEDs.
