I currently have the Sony RM-AV2100, and I am looking to replace it. I love all of the functionality that this remote has, but the size was unbearable! Anyway, I could use any advise on what remote to get to replace it. I definitely want the macro functionality, and the learning functionality. Here is what equipment I have. I have a Syntax Olevia LCD tv, a Polaroid VCR/DVD combo player, a Cox Cable HD DVR box, and an amp. I also would like to be able to use the same remote in my bedroom where I have a Syntax Olevia tv and a Cox Cable HD DVR box. Any suggestions would be welcome. I have up to $200 to spend, but obviously, if I can find a $25 remote that would work, that would be fine. Specifically, here's what I'm looking for:

Capabilities:
Macro
Learning
DVR
More than one TV/Cable box

Ergonomics:
Small
lightweight
practical key placement

Note: I can't stand the provided Cox DVR remote. It won't learn the Syntax Olevia codes so I can't use it on my tv, and the DVR buttons are at the very top of the remote...no where near where your hand is when holding it.

Have you tried the LG, philips, rca and yamaha tv codes in the cox remote for the syntax?

For under $20 theres the one-for-all urc-8820, it can learn upto 100 commands, allows macros on device keys, and has one of the largest library of devices codes that any other preprogrammed remote has had.

This one pretty much hits the mark with one exception...it appears the DVR buttons are at the top of the remote. This drives me nuts on the Cox DVR remote. Almost everything we watch is off the DVR, and this placement is horrible. Do you know of any that have the DVR buttons near the middle of the unit?
