I just recently purchase a Sony DAV-FX500 in the box home theater system. I also have a Sharp TV and an Atlanta Scientific cable box (Time Warner). I'd like to have a single universal remote to operate all 3 components. It's clear to me that just about any learning universal remote will easily take care of all the TV and the cable box functions. It's not so clear to me, however, if any universal remote will work with the FX500 which has a single box that is a combination FM/AM/DVD/CD receiver and player. My concern comes from the fact that there's one toggle button (i.e. up/down) on the Sony home theater remote which is labeled "Function" which is used to select between FM/AM/DVD/CD/TV/VCR, i.e. you just toggle thru until you get to what you want to see and/or listen to. My question is whether or not any of the learning universal remotes can be programmed to handle this toggling function in some way. Is there a single key that could "learn" this function ? That would be my preference if possible. Or could I use a series of separate keys on the universal remote to select each of the toggle selections on the Sony remote?
