Here is my setup
Samsung pn51d6500 Yamaha Rx-571 PS3 Slim (with Harmony adapter) Motorola DCX-3400
I currently have a Harmony 700, but its getting fritzy.
Here are my thoughts for an upgrade 1) Philips SRT8215 2) Xsight Touch 3) Harmony One
The Harmony would be twice as much so I'm hoping to make good with the Philips or Xsight. I imagine I can teach the PS3 commands to the new remote.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Let's see, your choices are:
1. A remote that was discontinued a couple of years ago by a company that got out of the remote business. 2. A rebranded remote that was discontinued over a year ago by a company that got out of the custom remote business. 3. A poor quality remote from the same company that made your current poor quality remote.
Man, that's a tough decision. Good luck.

Well, Philips still makes remote controls, including the Prestigo line. They discontinued the Pronto line. UEI still makes the Xsight Touch, marketed under the OneForAll Brand in UK/Europe, and AR brand in America.

Are you sure they still make them, or that they still have a lot left in inventory?

In the case of Philips, they are clearly still in the business of making remotes, with new models introduced in 2012. Of course, I don't know when they may discontinue the Prestigo SRT8215, but they did just update the advertising flyer for it, dated June 7.
I'm less sure of the Xsight line of remotes, but I can tell you that these remotes use the same processor and internal firmware structure as most of UEI's recent remotes. There's plenty of economic and technical scale to support the line.
Neither company seems to be supporting higher end remotes or ones that would appeal to a CI, since the remotes have street (internet) prices under $100.
