Maybe some one here can help me to find one like this. I'm not however, interested in Logitech Harmony remotes.

I want a very basic, low tech, "no-brainer" that even a Grandma with Alzheimer's can operate. It only needs to control two devices; a Sony HDTV and a Scientific Atlanta cable box. Compact & light weight are preferred. The keys must also be back lit for easy viewing in dim light.

The most important requirement however, is that it must not require keying back & forth from the TV button to turn it on, then to the CBL button to operate the set like most remotes do. I want to simply press the "On/Off" button; then be able to change volume level &/or channels while viewing TV. When done, I want to just press the "On/Off" again to shut it down.

I understand that this means the cable box will probably be on all the time, but that's OK with me.

Best regards, Richard

I don't go to Walmart much. Can you be a bit more specific as to the brand? Please see this link for the ones they sell.

What they have listed on their website is not the same as what they have in the stores. I have seen RCA, Sony, Phillips, and GE ones at different times that would fine for your situation. I recommend you to take a trip and see them for yourself.
