Well I have dropped my harmony 550 a few too many times and is time to replace. I am wanting the option to upgrade to RF eventually. I currently use an IR repeater but will be getting sick of pointing the remote eventually :). I am thinking of an URC mx-900. I can get them from a local dealer for ~$200 then enentualy upgrade to RF. With URC I am not worried about getting software as I can get it by walking into a shop. The system I will use it on,
Toshiba HDTV
Onkyo 506 receiver (will upgrade to a 608 or sony(sony not really an upgrade...))
HTPC running windows 7 media center
What are my options? Harmony 1, MX-900. or Acoustic Research ARRX18G? Open to almost any remote. No super old lines like the URC 10,20,30.

At that price range, the MX-900 is probably your best bet. It's infinitely more customizable than the Harmony or AR, but remember that the software doesn't do anything for you so you'll have to figure out your own layouts, macros, etc. If you're technically inclinded, you should find it very easy to program once you get the concept down. If you can swing it, you might look to the MX-880 which is color.

I have done quite a few URC remotes, mx20, mx580 and the mx500 so it shouldn;t be an issue. Thanks for the input.
