Hi,

I have recently purchased a Sharp PG-C20XE projector on eBay and unfortunately it does not have a remove control...

I have looked for the official replacement but it is in the region of $150 and would need to ship it from the USA...

Can anyone help...? Can you use a universal remote..? To be honest I only need to be able to switch it on and off (as it is mounted on the ceiling)..

Thanks in advance.

Mark

I don't know about that particular projector, but most Sharp projectors use the Sharp protocol, device 13. If you can find a remote made by Universal Electronics (OneForAll, Radio Shack, cable/sat companies, etc) you can use setup code TV 0851. Probably some buttons will need to be individually programmed, but UEI remotes are user programmable, if the IR protocol and device number is supported.

I did see one Sharp projector which uses device 17. Setup Code TV 0869 would work for that.

Use the Lookup Tool to search on Sharp Protocol. You can get a list of UEI remotes which will work or can be adapted to work.

If you go this route, post back and we'll tell you a list of functions, and the button codes to implement them
