Ran across this remote app in iTunes yesterday. I'm an old Pronto user, but have expecting/waiting for an iPhone remote IR app for some time. Wondering if anyone has any experience with it yet? A bit pricey (transceiver hardware), but if it allows for complete customization and works nearly as well as a Pronto - I figure what the heck, my phone is always with me and it's a lot smaller than other remotes.

Thoughts and opinions, please!

No, not at all. I haven't been on this forum in quite some time, and don't recall my old username. I am honestly trying to find anyone from this forum that has used it yet, or checked into it enough to voice an opinion. Positive or negative.

I did run a search before I posted, but nothing showed up on this iPhone RC app.

BTW, the moderators can see that my e-mail address is actually my name, and they could easily verify with me that there's no spam involved. I guess I can see why one would think so, as it appears today was my first post.

There was someone from RedEye on here not too long ago touting his iPhone remote.

Oh, I see. Is there something wrong with discussing it? If he was on here, what happened to the comments from others to what he wrote? I found nothing when I searched. It looks fairly interesting, and I would ask a few questions on their own forum but there are two problems with that:
1. The few users they have are not posting in English.
2. The forum is theirs, not independent.

I would love to buy this if I knew it would work. It even does RS232. I just got a iPhone, and largely for the purpose of trying to integrate it into an A/V system. All the threads I have seen saw it can be done, but I haven't seen any comments of anyone who has done it.

If anyone has used this or a different setup successfully please post about it.

This definitely looks interesting - anyone find a US IR/LAN supplier?

Good question. I just submitted that very question to them. I'll let you know what they come back with.

That was quick! Just got their answer (via their facebook page). They mention that they are the provider of the LAN hardware. Kind of confused me because everything I read talked about IRTrans modules. Anyway, I just saw a November 24 press release on their website that probably answers my confusion, and also that the hardware will be supplied from a US supplier:

Wow you must have money to burn, most people get an iPhone to use as a phone with alot of extras, but you got it to use as a remote control, wow. A remote control with a monthly service contract. You know Apple makes a device called an iPod Touch that will do everything an iPhone will do except make phone calls and take pictures. It even costs alot less.
