I think I need a UR...I KNOW I want one, but maybe you good folks could help me. Since I have so few things, maybe I don't NEED one.

Here is what I have;

*Yamaha HTR-6030BL
*Panasonic DMP-BD60
*Samsung 46" LN46B650
Xbox 360
HTPC w/Firefox remote

(* = all i HAVE to have the UR for)

I have nothing else at the moment. I expect to get a DTV satellite receiver inside the next 6 months but, can't count on that. I am on a tight budget but I think I could come up with $100-150 but, like everyone, I need the most bang for the least bucks.

Thanks all for any and all help!

Not very sure just what you are looking for, but if it is simply a good, cheap way to control your components using one remote, then buy a RCA RCRP05B ($20 at BestBuy or internet). I checked and it can control the first 4 components on your list. I don't know about the HTPC. The remote is also programmable, so, for example, it can be set up to handle the Yamaha's discrete on/off commands.

Those first 4 components are mainstream, and many Universals should be able to control them. If your interest is in a touchscreen type remote (more pizazz), then you could probably buy a decent used Harmony for less than $50.

Awesome! Yes, thats just what I was looking for. Would a Harmony 610 do what I need you think? And would it be any better or worse than the RCA RCRP05B?

I have ZERO knowledge of universals so i didn't want to go too crazy and think about getting a Harmony 1100 or some theater master that does a kagillion things when all I need for at least the next year is control those 3 to 4 units.

I will look into that RCA remote too...thanks!
