Hello to all, just signed up and ready to ask a stupid question.

Great site by the way, have found much information after just discovering it but still in the dark about what brought me here.

I have just finished installing a 42” lcd in my bedroom and I have it coming down out of the ceiling. I am using a wireless remote (key fob remote) to activate the linear actuator up and down. My question is, can I use a universal remote with RF to activate the linear actuator instead?

It would be nice to have the tv come down and on with just one button press.

Does your key fob remote send an IR signal or a RF signal?

Yes you can, but what equipment you will need just depends on the system you have. If that key fob remote is RF, then you will have to use a 12v trigger with a new remote control and base station.

The key fob is RF. The remote actuator is housed in a box with the tv in the attic.

Can someone suggest a good reasonably priced rf remote and base station that can control a 12 volt trigger for the TV actuator.
