You can get a TSU9300 for $472.

Wow.... I need to live in a place where sales tax and shipping combined for a $472 item is only $3....!

Was it amazon selling them at that or was it a reseller? Did you notice if it said amazon or like 'joes guitar center'?

I think it was Amazon.

I think RC Member motech bought one then.

Sorry I did not go into specifics but I don`t live in the US so I don`t know!

I know they are a hell of lot cheaper in the US compared to Australia,

TSU9200 - $800au ($693us)
TSU9300 - $1,600au ($1,386us)
TSU9400 - $2,200au ($1,906us)
TSU9600 - $2,800au ($2,426us)
TSU9800 - $5,000au ($4,332us)

Can you blame me for getting a little excited when I see Online Prices? :)

P.S. Do you or Stamp have a Retail Price list for URC Remotes you can send me?
There is not much info in Aus.

I do not have a price list for URC. We purchase thru distribution and as a lowly wiremunky i dont have to pay attention to the numbers :).

This Chicago area retailer has most if not all of the URC line listed with MSRP. [Link: abt.com]

Great company to deal with. My company has a relationship with them where we send clients to purchase big ticket items like theater furniture or appliances and specific CE products we cant get distributor access to. As a thank you.. that i didn't even ask for.. they gave my sister a crazy ridiculous deal on her appliances when she bought a new house and threw in an under-counter mounted CD player. These guys are a reincarnation of the old school "the customer is always right" retail store and they carry everything. They have a sony and apple store built in to them (or they did havent been in a while). Enough rambling.. the store is like best buy and a Ferrari dealership had a baby.

Thanks for the link.

Can you update Channel Icons on a MX-450?

I downloaded the MX-450 Archiver, is that just for saving programming?

Great discussions guys!

But I haven't heard anyone say much about Nevos, has anyone had much experience with them?

I can't believe the pricing of a lot of these remotes (particularly here in Oz).
They just seems a little overboard IMO for what you're getting.

I have only programmed one Q50 which is a great remote too. I was a little disappointed with the Screen Contrast/Brightness but still a very good remote.

Nevo in Oz do have special going at the moment for the Q50 and Nevo Connect NC-50 but it is $1,400au. The Q50 is normally $1,400au by it self. I will be programming another soon.

Tell me about it!

The guys I program for wont even stock them... but I`m working on them!

There's no way I'd pay that sort if money to buy it here in Oz.
$1400 all up is just crazy talk....

Remoteshoppe have quoted me $479 ($557 Ausd) for the Q50.
Still Waiting on a price for the NC-50...

Dunno if they'll ship here though, yet to confirm that...

So you weren't happy with the Q50 compared to URC/Pronto remotes in a similar price bracket? What's the big deal breaker/s for you?

Are there any other makes you like more than URC/Pronto/Nevo?

Cheers

The MX450 Archiver will allow for firmware updates and will allow for program download/archival.

Thanks Joe.

I spoke to Oz Importer today and the are not allowed to import the MX-450 due to the RF Frequency (418 MHz). Apparently they use the same Frequency that is already being used by Taxi’s, police and defense force and URC will not be making another frequency for this product at this point in time.

Theses are the only Models they bring into Oz,

I have never used URC Remotes so I can`t really comment.

I like the Q50! It just doesn`t have as good a Touch Screen compared to Pronto`s but they are more expensive.

Q50 - 2.4inch 240x240 4k colour
TSU9300 - 2.8inch 240x320 65k colour, more Memory,Tilt Sensor.

What's the big deal breaker/s for you?

It really depends on the Devices you have and how you what to control them?

Would you rather have a larger Touch Screen or more Hard Buttons?

Nevo Q50 with a NC-50 is a lot cheaper for RF Control.

Seeing that you are not interested in ProntoScript (TSU9400), Nevo is probably the one for you. The software is easy to use, as long as you get it from a Authorized Dealer.

Are there any other makes you like more than URC/Pronto/Nevo?

No!

If you were to Import a URC MX-450 I doubt it is going to have Oz Channel Icons (see Post 25).

Cheers

Thanks Jason! The range of URC actually available in Oz seems limited anyway.
So I think it'll come down to a closer comparison between Pronto and Nevo remotes.
Getting closer to forming a decision, phew...
