Is there a one handed remote with buttons and a decent screen that can display channel logos?

Considering

MX 900-950
RTI T2c
AMX r4

But these remotes have pro programming that can costly, are there any other alternatives.

The MX-900 or MX950 you can program yourself, buy it from an authorized dealer and you will get the software from them as well.

The RTI T2C is not shipping yet, they have the U1,T1,T2+,T3 and T4 are shipping now as well as the inwall RK3 and K4, and software is not available to the end user so requires a dealer to program

Amx will require a a few parts like a control processor and RF gateway as well as needing to be installed and programmed by a dealer

I am worried about purchasing the MX from an online authorized dealer.
What happens later on when they are not available and I need service or software updates?

Also is the 950 worth the extra money for the docking station, rechargable battery and a little bigger screen with poor text charachters.

If you buy fron an authorized dealer they should supply you with a software link or disc that should have access to Live updates.

I dont sell much URC anymore and we usually do the programming if we do.

I personally use RTI, I have a T3 for the main room and a T1 in the bedroom both with RF bases

The T2-C is going to be an awsome remote when its released

As far as the recharge bases its a personal preference. The batteries in the MX700, 800, 850 and such seem to last 4-6 months or longer depending on usage

All the RTI remotes are equiped with rechargable batteries and bases except the M2 and U1

The URC line is a good line and is supported by many in these forums

if you can wait for the t2c do it. It's very nice, saw it in a training class. Just be prepared to pay for it, the accompanying modules and programming. Not an elcheapo but worth it.

They are totally different remotes, and it depends on what you want. The MX-3000 is a color touchscreen remote. The MX-950 is a non-LCD touchscreen.

EDIT: I see the "one-handed" part. Go for the 950 then. A touchscreen is awfully tough to use with one hand.

I agree w/ OTAHD. Overall, $200 is little extra for the 3000 in my opinion. But it is definitely NOT a one-handed remote. Even >GASP< Prontos are easier for the appendage-impaired than MX-3000s. And the 950 does have a nice B&O type heft to it.

The T2-C should be available around the first of the year, Its a dealer only remote, It has no end user software, Doesnt learn IR (uses RTI IRPRO)

In which case you'll definitely be able to get/program/use the MX-900 easier than the T2-C.
