I'm very new to RS232. I have a Hitachi CP-X5022WN that I would like to be able to turn on and off via Termite (or another Terminal program) using RS232 commands.

The manual has the following information:

Turn Off: BE EF 03 06 00 2A D3 01 00 00 60 00 00
Turn On: BE EF 03 06 00 BA D2 01 00 00 60 01 00

I have everything setup for COM4 the correct baud rate etc.

The problem I'm having is that I have no idea how to get these commands to work. I entered in all of the characters into Termite and nothing happens.

Is there something that I need to do with those characters to make them happen?

I have an ASK Proxima projector as well and all I had to do with it was type in A01 or A00 to turn on and off the projector.

The following is similar/same manual I have: [Link: projectorpoint.co.uk]

Hi MrOblivious,

First, u must confirm the correct baud rate is 19200,none parity,8 bit,1 stop bit.
Second, the software u use is hyperterminal, which cannot type Hex code.
You should find another software, like AccessPort.

May this can help u.
