Does anyone know if there is a way to control this device via IP or rs-232? Any work around that can be used? Trying to go all IP based on my system ND this unit is holding me up. It's all my cable provider provides (rogers).

Tx

No 232 connection, talks Moca for connectivity. I doubt the LAN port is live. I'm sure I might be corrected, but I can't think of an IP controlled cable box. Once the local cable companies write their firmware to the boxes manufactured by someone else, it seems to me that you are stuck with whatever ports or connections that firmware made live.
