I work as a volunteer for a MaxPlanck Institute in Germany. They track birds with transmitters. The transmitter data are collected by ARUs (automatic receiving units). These store them on a SD card, but offer also the possibility to send them via a 9600 Baud serial interface RS 232 to a computer. I look for a possibility to show these data on a computer screen realtime.
The data come in a format like this
data package 1 data package 2 data package 3 ...... (transmitter 1)
data package 1 data package 2 data package 3 ...... (transmitter 2)
:
:
data package 1 data package 2 data package 3 ...... (transmitter n)

I am only interested in data package 2 which shows the signal quality
(Values are between 0 and 15000).

The repeat rate of the n data packages depends of course on n, typical value would be every 10 minutes.

Does somebody know a software by which I can plot the incoming data
realtime on a computer screen ?

Thxs

You would have to write your own program for that.

I use Labview almost daily and it would be pretty simple to do that.
