Hi there,

I am looking for the Yamaha RX-V2300 RS232 Protocol, i found one for the RX-V2500 and RX-Vx700 but none for the model what i am looking for.

I have a problem, i am sending commands to the receiver and it does whatever i want it to do, for example, turn it on, turn it off, change the radio preset, etc., the only problem is the response i get from it. The receiver doesn´t respond in one single string the xxxxxxx report command. I have tried using an serial port monitor software and it receives sometimes byte per byte or sometimes 2 bytes per 2 bytes or even 3 o 4, but never the whole string. As i understood from the found protocols it should return a complete string in less than 500ms.

For example i sent 500 and it should answer with xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx which is the configuration command (of course it is very large)

Does anybody know how or what should i do to get it working? Can it be a Protocol problem?

Thank you very much for your help.
Regards.

PD. i am using null modem cable (as i told it is working very well from the computer to the receiver)

Hi guys its working right now, i got another computer with an RS232 port and try it without an USB-RS232 converter. And it works fine. Now it is returning the complete string from the receiver.

Now my problem is to get one USB-RS232 converter that works and also the Protocol for the RX-V2300.

Regards!!

I've been told that keyspan makes the most reliable USB-RS232 converter on the market.

If you are struggling to find docs for the RXV2300, use those for a more recent version. You may find that the input selections are mixed up, but most other commands have remained the same. Also, there may be library codes available with your control system. What are you using? It sounds like you are using a PC or are you just testing? There are certainly codes in the RTI library.
