I have just started experimenting with my iPOD touch and downloaded X10 commander from itunes.
Years ago I experimented with X10 but got frustrated due to a lack of an adequate remote. Since getting my iPOD touch I am amazed with the things it can do and very easily.
Anyway I dug out a couple of CM12 interfaces and my X10 Lamp and appliance modules. Everything works fine using the RF mains interface and keypad but when I plug the CM12 into the serial port of the PC I can’t get the computer to control the X10 at all. It seems as if the CM12 is dead but I have tried 3 and all give the same results..nothing. I am using Active Home software which I used to use as this is so simple to set up, and this all worked fine last time I used it, only difference now is a much newer PC. Has anyone any suggestions ? Is there an easy way of me testing the communication of the PC to the mains network via the CM12 interface ?

Many thanks

Graham
