I have an IR543 for home. it works great and I have never had a problem with it.

I was doing a small theater installation and though I'd give the guy some cheap dimming functionality to enhance the wow factor. So I got two dimmers (Levitons) and an IR-543 for control. I have several X10 remotes, so I was going to give him one and program the buttons into his projector remote, which has learning capability.

However, the IR543 I got from hometech would not work. It lights up upon receiving any IR and when buttons are pressed, but no X10 signal to the powerline. I even plugged it and a wall unit into the same plug and got no signal. I brought mine from home and had no problems with the same setup and my unit could control the wall dimmers at the customer house without a problem.

So I returned the IR543 and got a replacement. I decided to test this one at home. Exact same problem -- no control of anything, while my older one works fine with the same dimmers and modules. I even tried every letter on the dial switch (in case the arrow was misaligned) and I tried the bottom switch in both positions, in case it was wired wrong. Still nothing, although I do get a light.

I just wanted to make sure I tried everything before sending this one back as well (this time on their dime).

Thanks for any help.
Anthony
