I have previously connected any x10 control devices to my computers through RS232 ports, but now I have a new laptop without an RS232 connection and am trying to use the usb port to connect my new Rain8. How do I do this? I have the usb to serial cable, but how do I get it to recognize the connection? Do I need to declare the usb port to be the COM1 port somehow? I'd also like to move my Ocelot programming to this new computer, I assume if I get it working for one, it will work for the other.

Thanks,
Todd

WGL has one tested to work with thier products. You just have to select com port the adapter is plugged into, you can always figure that out by looking under control panel-system-device manger-com ports.

We sell wgl's adapter at a little better price than wgl.
