I have a TSU7000 that I have sucessfully converted all my existing IR components for use. I am so happy!

Now I want to control my lights. So I went the x10 route & bought switches, lamp modules, pc interface. So far so good, everything works via the pc interface & the hard buttons on the IR543.

But.... I cannot make the TSU700 talkt to the IR543. I downloaded several codesets from the file areas to try an learn how to setup the TSU7000 and even tried the codegen program. Alas no go. I think the IR543 may be bad.

Any suggestions?

Exactly what are you sending from the remote to the IR543. I do know how the pronto's operate but is it possible you have turned on a RF mode as opposed to IR mode?

I used the codegen program to generate IR codes that I cut-n-paste into custom IR command. I have even downloaded other user's IR codes for x-10, but the IR543 doesn't seem to get the IR message.

I'm Fairly new to this, but I set mine up as follows:

Click on the button you want to program
Select the "actions" tab
Click on the "IR Code" button
Select the "IR code from universal database" box
Select "use specific device"
Under the device drop down menu select "home"
Under the brand drop down menu select "X10"
Under the codeset drop down menu select "codeset 0194"
Then click on one of the functions in the right hand box.

Hope this helps.

Well I bought a new IR543 and it does exactly the same thing. Hard button work, but the signals from the TSU7000 do not work. I set up the codes exactly as tempest69 suggested and no go. Am I missing something?

Since the IR543 is limited to one house command (e.g. A), do I somehow need to send that before I send the unit code (e.g. 1) and the function (e.g. on)?

Thanks...

Does the light on the IR543 flash when you press a button on your Pronto? If it does, that means it's receiving a signal.

Although you can set the IR543 to different house codes, it only transmits on the one you have it set for. Have you checked that the house code on the IR543 matches the house codes set on you X10 modules?

No red light on either of the two IR543's. The hard buttons on the IR543 operate the modules with no issues. My TSU7000 works for all other devices in my home, so it is probably okay. I think the problem is the codes I cut-n-pasted for the IR-543. I have downloaded & tried several codes from other users on this site and none seem to work. I am in the USA and baffled.

murrayjw -

I used lowpro's IR codes from his *.pcf for my IR543 and they work flawlessly.

Lowpro's file is no longer available... the link in the post you directed me to appears to be broken (looks like the host lowpro's pcf file is no longer hosting the file).

Murrayjw,

This is my PCF file:

This has all the codes for the IR543. I'm doing exactly what you're doing.

Make sure that the device that you've created is an IR device, NOT RF
