I wish to control several sockets in my house using my Pronto RU990. From reading this thread it appears that this can be done with several AM12U's and a TM13U. However I am still at a loss as to how to get the Pronto to transmit the RF codes to the TM13U, I have seen a retailer selling a configuration for £30 but that seems like a rip off as I am sure it should be quite easily.

Obviously I am not going to buy the kit until I know exactly what is required so as not to make any costly mistakes.

Cheers

Baz

The typical configuration is to have a an IR543 ($25) or IR543AH ($125). It converts IR signals to X10. If you want to use non line of sight, then an RF receiver converter to IR for the remote would be required.

Given that the 990 has WiFi, there may be a more elegant solution.

Hey Baz,

Your RU990 will talk direct to the TM13U (if it is a european X10 item). James suggestion is only needed with TSU7500 and US X10.

£30 is not too bad for the setup as it saves some computer work but you can do it yourself and it's not too hard. Look here [Link: simplyautomate.co.uk]

It shows the RU950 but should still work with yours. Hope that helps!

Stuart

Yep that link has made things a lot clearer, have been configuring Pronto's for at least 3 years now so should not be a problem. I have ordered TM13U and will have a play before ordering further X10 equipment.

Cheers

Here is a different link to the same info.

[Link: smarthus.info]

You may have a problem finding codegen if you do email me and i will see if i can find my copy on my old laptop!

Failing that there is a Excel file for download on here that has all the X10 codes listed and you can just copy and paste into the editor. I can't remember what section it was under or what it was called. ( I do have a copy to email on my old laptop I'm sure).

I found that far quicker and easier to use than codegen.

Hi

I hope you can help me too! I've been trying to find a copy of codegen and the Excel file you mention in the previous post but so far no luck.

Did you manage to find a copy and, if so, any chance you can email them to me?

Many thanks in advance

Nigel
