Help!!
Does anyone have any experience with hard wireing a peramid IR extender to a IR543. I have a 2500SF house with 1 signal coulpler/repeater and several phase coulplers and still I have a problem with my IR543 upstairs getting out. I am getting BSC,BBK,BCY and the signal from upstairs is still only in MV not volts. What I would like to do is come out from the IR extender jack of the peramid into the Ir543 IR receiver bulb and maybee remove the bulb and replace it for a jack to coulple them then use my peramids to relay the IR to my IR543 downstairs that works well. This would enable me to have only 1 Ir543 to deal with.??? I don't know if I should put another repeater upstairs??
Any help or experience would be appreciated.
Eric

Are there any problems or functionality issues with having multiple IR543's set to the same house code? I wanted to expand a little and was looking at the IR extenders also. Just wanted to know the most efficient (and cheapest) option out there.

Hi Eric,

Have you filtered any noisy devices in your home? I have a similar size home and actually had the same sort of problem and it turned out to just need filters on tv's, etc. 4 filters later all is well for me.

I have 2 cylnder type filters on my pool pump far away but thats all. What kind of filters do you recomend and how do you tell which appliances are giving you noise??

You can use a signal meter, I remember hearing the elk is not to pricy and works well. You can also unplug suspect things 1 at a time and see if the problems go away. Generally speaking Audio/Video, Computers, Power strips, and Ups's seem to be common, I filtered all of these and I now have much better results. Take a look here [Link: homeautomationnet.com] and look towards the bottom of the page.
