I just installed 4 PCS SceneMaster switches and would like to purchase 2 additional switches (non-scene capable) for two other areas in the house as follows:

(1) A dimmable switch; and
(2) A non-dimmable toggle switch.

I've read that it is better to stay with the same brand of switches, thus I would like to get two more PCS switches. However, I definitely don't need "scenes" on these two switches, and unless I'm missing something, I don't see a PCS switch that doesn't contain scenes on their website???

Should I look at the SmartLinc brand and mixed the brand of switches in the house?

I use mostly PCS switches, but have a couple of rooms with a mixture of florescent and incandescent lighting, so I went with the Smarthome switches. Mine happen to be scene capable, which I needed. They mix just fine. You don't have them at the computer for programming, but if they don't do anything other than need the house code and unit code set initially, there is no need to have them at the computer.

The dimmer model will probably come on to the last level it was at when turned off, depending on whatever the characteristics of the specific switch you choose are.

Deane, that may be a problem. I was going to get a CM11A when I ordered the two additional switches. What I wanted to do was put the two new switches in an area where I could have the computer turn them on and off at specific times.

For example, one was to be at the outsite foyer entrance. I didn't need scene or dimming capabilities there, but wanted to have the computer set up to turn it on at 7:00 and off at 11:00 (I was looking at getting a PLC non-dimmer 2385 for the entrance foyer and a PLC dimmer 2384 for the other areas where I would like dimming control).

(1) Does the CM11A only allow this to happen with PCS switches? Maybe I'm missing understanding. . . I hope so, since I hate to spend $60.00 for another PCS SceneMaster dimming switch when all I really want/need is a toggle on/off switch.

(2) I still can't imagine that PCS doesn't make a non-scene / non-dimming switch. I've had to miss it on there website???

P.S. - Your previous input regarding which brand of switch to purchase was very helpful. The wife-to-be likes the look and feel of the PCS switchs [actually prefers the red LED light over the bar of indicator level lights other switches have - We have a non-X-10 Lutron dimmer swtich from Home Depot she now want replaced :)]
