If your looking for simple on/off them you could use the sw2385 located here [Link: homeautomationnet.com] If your looking for speed control then you will be out of luck without building a complicated system to control it (it does not seem worth it to me) Your other option for speeds is a remote controller from homedepot or such made just for fans.

To really do it right each fan needs the following for three speeds: (3) scene capable X10 non-dimming switches & (2) manual anti-hum fan speed contols. I must say it "IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT". Once you have gotten over the purchase price of materials and the couple of hours it takes to assemble the controller it sure is nice to have universal centralized control of the ceiling fans in the house. My MX700's each have four lcd buttons dedicated to fan control in the rooms in which they are located, a single press of hi, med, low, or off does the trick everytime. If you need more specifics I will be glad to help out.

So I can control my fan from my Pronto if I have the IR543?

Thanks. Write Back : )

You need (3) Switchlinc two way switches or (3) Togglelinc two way switches from Smarthome. I'll probably get flamed here as these are expensive. You program them for four scenes of which each of the three switches has an on or off state, on-off-off, off-on-off, off-off-on, and off-off-off. All three are connected in parallel to 110 volts on their supply side, the output of one of the switches is directly connected to the fan, the other two have manuaI fan speed controls between them and the fan, one set to medium, the other set to low. I also use (2) or them for each of my inline ventilation fans so I can have two stage recirculation/exhaust and cooling for my component racks. If you decide to go this route I can help you assemble it. All the white wires tie together, all the ground wires tie together (use those new "push-in multi connectors), it's just the blacks and the blues that connect to specific places. Here is a picture of the first one I made for testing purposes
