I just installed a set of non-X10 controlled under the counter halogen lights (it has a power transformer). They are on the same circuit as one of my working X-10 switches. The X-10 switch no longer works. If I disconnect the halogen lights, the X-10 switch works.

Any ideas on how to get my X-10 switch AND the halogen lights to work on the same circuit.

I have found halogen's to be on the noisy side, you could either try filtering the lights, or if you don't already have a quality coupler repeater, you could add one and it might get you through your problems. I have many halogens and since adding my repeater all works well.

RWI,

Thanks for your suggestion. I have to ask, what is a coupler repeater?

Take a look here [Link: homeautomationnet.com] I have the CR-234, it is a little pricy, but I have an entire home full of X-10 and no problems so it was worth the investment. Depending on your long term plans you may want the same or maybe a cheaper model.

RWI,

I will only have the X10 lights in my basement. I have a total of 6 switches and may graduate to 8 someday. I will give the plug in modules a try if they don't work, I'll keep working my way up.

Thanks,

Ed

Filtering the lights would help more than installing a coupler repeater would, IMHO. It does not sound like there were noise or signal issues before the lights were installed.
