I'm a very new newbie! There are no instructions in the av-2000 instruction book on how to control lights . I have a ir543, lamp module(lm465), and dimmer switch(ws12a). Now what?

There are no x10 codes in the av2000, you need another remote to teach the av2000 the commands.

I have basically the same setup. Youll need to go to Radio Shack and buy a the 5 in 1 universal remote..model number 15-2115. You need to use the learn feature on the AV3000 to learn some commands from the radio shack remote. Once ur done u can simply return the radio shack remote if you want to.

You need to put the aux. code 0167 in the radio shack remote. I know the 15-2103 will work..and im almost positive the 15-2115 will work. When you go to the shack, just look on the back of the remote box and under "home automation" it should say "X10". Anyways, put the code 0167 in the radio shack remote. Then use that to learn the function in the AV3000. when using the radio shack remote, push the number of the device, then channel up to turn it on, and channel down to turn it off. To dim lights push the number of the device, then hold down vol up for dim up, and vol. down for volume down. Hope this helps, let me know if you need more help.

all off comand is the mute button...im not sure if there is an all on command...but once u program ur AV3000 you can set up a macro on the system buttons to turn any number of devices on or off in any combination.

DO NOT GET THE 15-2115!!! It's a piece of junk. It doesn't take advanced codes, so you're stuck with whatevers mapped. Get the 2103 or splurge and get the 2116. Theseare the advanced codes available for setup 0167:

glad to hear you got it all working. Now for scenes. The way i have mine set up i can push one button and it will play a DVD..dim the lights...and turn the fireplace on, etc. Its pretty easy...hold the commander off and mute button at the same time. Then push the system button on the LCD screen. Next push what system you want to program..i start out with one of the three system control buttons on the remote buttons. After you push the system button start selecting, in order, what commands you want the remote to do. After the last one push the commander off button. Thats it! Its pretty easy. Let me know if you have any more questions...good luck!
