Remote controls are very personel items, like a toothbrush. Hard buttons or touchscreens?, How many devices do you want to control?, Do you want use the remote from a different location than your equipment? Do you want to control the lights, the drapes, the Hot Tub? These are just a few questions you need to ask. Check out the Review and Feature sections of this site. Also check out the Clicker Picker to find the remote of your dreams.
BTW I agree with equium, MX-500 RULES! Go with Bluedo.com for the best prices no matter what you decide on.

There is an X10 Universal/Learning remote that controls all of your A/V equipment, your X10 automation equipment and will even control your PC so you can play your music and movies and stuff from your computer with your remote. One remote for everything, and it's a good price at $35. I saw it at [Link: hometheatercomputer.net]
