I have a switch that I want to automate, but the setup is unlike anything that I see hardware for. It has two switches mounted in a single location. One switch is for the den light and the other controls the porch light. What would be the easiest way to go about getting both automated??

sorry, wasn't quite descript enough... the switches occupy the same space that a normal single switch would be mounted. In other words they are stacked so that they take up less room.

Any input appreciated...

I'll give you a few idea's

1. If the switch's control outlets that say lamps are plugged into, you could use lamp modules at the plugs.

2. You could remove the box from the wall, cut the hole in the shreetrock larger and install an old work 2 gang box, then install 2 standard size switch's

3. There are x-10 modules that can be wired between a lamp and power source.

4. You could remove the existing switch, replace it with a standard size and then use another means of control for the second circuit, you could add a second box with switch, or an inline module.

I'm sure there are many other ways to do it, much of it comes down to how much work you are willing to put in and your budget.

Hi,

There are a few different options available to you.

First of all, those two lightsthat are being controlled, is either or both of them part of a 3-way lighting set-up? If so, you could replace both of the switches with one KeypadLinc.

That would also really open you up to a lot more options and better flexibility too.
